Our approach to sustainability in the automotive industry

We frame everything through the lens of sustainability

At FORVIA, we frame everything through the lens of sustainability. For us, mobility is about much more than moving. It’s at the heart of people’s lives and what matters to them: moving freely and caring for the planet, in their own way. Our sustainability roadmap rests on three pillars: Planet, Business and People. Each pillar has a concrete action plan, with clear initiatives and progress targets to drive sustainable changes in the automotive sector..

Planet: reducing our environmental impact with sustainable decisions

Because there is only one earth, we need to do our part in protecting it involving green strategies. We have committed to reaching CO2 Net Zero by no later than 2045, and we are the first automotive company in the world to have this ambition validated by the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi). We are also working on a daily basis to reduce our environmental footprint in all operations: managing our water consumption, our impact on biodiversity, and our waste production.

Business: achieving sustainable business practices

We aim to perform in a responsible way and are convinced of the importance of anchoring a culture of integrity, safety, and vigilance wherever we operate, while ensuring compliance with the highest ethical standards. Our suppliers are a key element of our performance, and we aim to create together a responsible supply chain.

People: embracing corporate social responsibility (CSR)

We want to make a positive contribution to society. We foster a learning organization, run a diversity and inclusion program with a particular focus on women’s advancement, and contribute directly to the communities in which we operate through our FORVIA Foundation.
