FORVIA, sustainable automotive technologies for smart mobility

Scaling hydrogen mobility means advancing two infrastructures in sync: the tanks that power vehicles and the systems that transport hydrogen to the stations that will recharge them.

That’s exactly what we’re doing:
In addition to providing tanks, we will now be H2 Energy’s manufacturing partner, responsible for end-to-end assembly of the complete MEGC (Multiple Element Gas Container) units.

This new product is a natural extension of our portfolio of optimized hydrogen cylinders, guaranteeing a safe, high-quality, and cost-efficient solution for hydrogen transport and supply.

H2 Energy operates a hydrogen ecosystem through its subsidiary “Hydrospider” in Switzerland.
Over 30 MEGC containers already supply green hydrogen to 10 Hydrogen Filling Stations daily in the country.
And up to 1,000kg of hydrogen are being consumed daily by Hyundai’s heavy duty vehicle fleet and other hydrogen customers.

Start of production by the end of the year!

These photos pull you right back into the behind-the-scenes of headlamp assembly at @FORVIA HELLA in 1950.

What you don’t see, though, is the wave of innovation behind it all.

For the VW Beetle headlamps, teams used rubber conveyor belts for the first time.
As production volumes soared, they added a second assembly level.
Finished parts were lifted to a central packaging floor, which was a pretty smart setup for the time.
Later, hanging-tray conveyors replaced the lifts as the teams adapted to new challenges.

More than 70 years later, we’re proud to carry forward that legacy, building on craftsmanship and history.
This legacy is above all our ability to evolve our production methods with agility to meet our customers’ needs.
