We believe it’s essential to improve the environmental performance of our sites. We have committed to an environmental ISO 14001 certification approach for our production plan with over two years’ activity and are deploying a holistic approach based on the principle of continuous improvement. Our efforts focus on waste, water, prevention of environmental pollution and biodiversity. They run in parallel with our CO₂ neutrality roadmap.

Avoiding, managing, and recovering waste

Sites are implementing local initiatives that improve the reduction, sorting, and recovery of product waste, and reincorporating production scraps back into processes as much as possible. Current programs include waste reduction, strengthening sorting practices, setting up recycling systems externally, and reusing packaging.

Making better use of water resources

Though FORVIA’s industrial processes consume a moderate amount of water (two-thirds of the Group’s consumption is for sanitary use), we want to make sure we are using this precious resource responsibly. Improved water management is based on accurate monitoring, prevention of leaks, and closed-loop use.

Preventing environmental pollution

We want to prevent any environmental pollution and limit the use of hazardous chemical products. FORVIA has implemented a data system for managing substances throughout our supply chain, and we carry out upfront lifecycle analysis while avoiding products that could have an impact on the environment. Among other benefits, this approach gives the Group access to complete information on the substances making up our products, in compliance with regulations such as the European Union’s REACH (Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals) regulation. Its actions consist first of identifying substances of concern and proposing substitutes.

FORVIA monitors and limits atmospheric emissions of volatile organic compounds related to our business. In order to eliminate the risk of accidental releases into local water and soil, we train all site operators to anticipate any risk, and react immediately in the event of an accidental spill. FORVIA assesses the environmental risks of its industrial projects by systematically conducting environmental audits and subsoil studies.
